Dimitri has a background in medical physics, completing his BSc and MSc at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, Germany. He then received his PhD in 2021 from the University of Cambridge in the Department of Radiology under supervision of Dr Joshua Kaggie and Professor Fiona Gilbert. His PhD research focussed on quantitative MRI of healthy and osteoarthritic articular cartilage of the knee joint and assessed the effects of static and dynamic joint loading activities on cartilage composition. He also explored ways to expediate the analysis pipelines using deep learning techniques.
Dimitri has joined the Prostate Imaging Group lead by Professor Tristan Barrett. His primary focus will be to enable an objective image quality assessment of multi-parametric prostate MR images through the development of dedicated ML/AI approaches. He is also interested in advancing multi-parametric MRI techniques for prostate cancer detection and characterisation.
