We are celebrating 40 years of the Radiology Department this year from the early days and onwards to the future.
On 1st January 1978 Tom Sherwood was appointed the first Professor of Radiology at the University of Cambridge. This was the start of the Radiology department and since then the department has flourished under his leadership and then Professor Adrian Dixon. As the third Professor of Radiology in Cambridge we have decided to mark this very special occasion, the 40th Anniversary of the University of Cambridge Department of Radiology by holding an afternoon symposium in Cambridge on Wednesday 21st March 2018 followed by a celebratory dinner in the evening. We are inviting all our previous trainees, students and employees to this celebration as well as consultants, trainee radiologists and radiographers from across the region and leaders in the industry. In addition to this are the important members of the university and hospital who supported the development of the department.
The meeting will consist of a varied and interesting programme and will take place at the School of Clinical Medicine, Cambridge Biomedical Campus. The meeting will be followed by drinks and dinner to celebrate our 40th Anniversary and will take place at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, giving us the opportunity for networking and socialising and to meet those who currently work or who have once been part of the Department of Radiology.
