Frank Riemer joined the Radiology department in 2014 after attaining his PhD in “Quantitative Sodium (23Na) MRI of the human brain” from University College London (UCL). His background is MR Physics with a keen interest in 23Na-MRI and diffusion imaging in cancer and neuroinflammation. As part of the CRUK & EPSRC Cancer Imaging Centre in Cambridge & Manchester, Frank is developing 23Na-MRI sequences to probe the tumour microstructure non-invasively to understand proliferation and treatment response better.
