Andrew Patterson studied Mechanical Engineering (BEng) and Software Engineering (MSc), before completing a PhD in medical imaging and medical statistics. Andrew initially joined the Department in 2006 as a Post Doctorate Research Associate. In 2009 he took up a permanent appointment within CUH’s MRIS unit and subsequently became a HCPC accredited MRI Clinical Scientist. He has published over 60 papers and has primarily worked on developing MRI techniques with a special interest in breast cancer, real-time imaging techniques, and vessel wall imaging. Andrew is actively involved in co-supervising PhD students within the Department, he is also actively involved in external committees including IPEM and EUSOBI.
